Freeze citations and numbers while you rewrite flagged prose
When an AI writing report paints continuous prose, the tempting move is to paste the whole chapter into a chat. That often scrambles citations, page numbers, and formula tokens the detector never flagged.
HumanPen document polish starts the other way: import the Turnitin or iThenticate-style export, rewrite only the flagged continuous prose, and keep citations, numbers, and equations intact. The badge is not a verdict; structure should survive the edit.
Similarity percent and AI writing percent answer different questions. Do not treat either as authorship. If two tools disagree, at least one is wrong—ask whether the process is fair, not which tool "caught" more.
Steps that stay honest: open the full report; separate similarity from AI writing; rewrite high-confidence flagged prose first; freeze references and numbers; export so layout returns.
HumanPen (https://humanpen.net) helps import a detection report and rewrite flagged spans while citations and numbers stay frozen. It does not sell rankings or a guaranteed pass.
